Certified Infant Massage Instructor Program

The purpose of the International Association of Infant Massage is to promote nurturing touch and communication through training, education and research so that parents, caregivers and children are loved, valued and respected throughout the world community - this is IAIM's Mission.  And you can be part of it!

The International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM) instructor training course offers  a wonderful opportunity to support parents and primary caregivers, by helping them learn how to lovingly and respectfully communicate with their babies through massage.

Infant Massage is a traditional parenting practice in India and many other parts of the world.  Generations of parents have offered this nurturing touch to their babies. Vimala McClure, the founder of IAIM, having experienced the effect of infant massage while doing volunteer work in India, had the vision that all babies in the world should experience this loving nurturing connection. Her program is now delivered in many countries on all continents.

Today, research conducted worldwide support the benefits of the IAIM program with impressive results. Neuroscience and psychology researchers are unanimous about the necessity of deliberate, appropriate, nurturing touch for babies. Training to become an infant massage means joining a worldwide community dedicated to promoting nurturing touch; safely, skillfully, and professionally.

This 4-day intensive in-person training session is designed for nurses, physiotherapists, massage therapists, childcare educators, dedicated parents… anyone who is interested in promoting the benefits of infant massage to families and communities!

Once the training, take home assignment, and practice teaching are completed, the participant will become a qualified infant massage instructor, a Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI), enabling them to conduct classes for parents in groups or privately, teaching how to massage their babies. Included are a manual, compendium, book, certification support and certificate. This is an internationally recognized certification that will enable you to begin sharing IAIM's mission as well!
